A TIMELY & HANDY REVELATION
My first feeling upon awakening today was joyless.
The first thoughts in my mind were troublesome.
I asked myself, “How could this be? I spent yesterday doing decrees every hour for poise, peace, inner harmony and expanding my cosmic costume to include larger and larger space. I should be feeling ecstatic.”
After much inner searching, the “clue” was a short, three-letter word. FUN.
Dissecting “fun” revealed:
That was it. Being in or on the water. Eating. And making things.
What did they all have in common? HANDS
FUN was not in meditation…no hand use except for mudras.
FUN was not in decreeing…that was mind and inner vision.
FUN was not in sitting still, for the hands were then IDLE.
Hmmmm.....so what was wrong with "idle" I asked myself.
Instantly aphorisms about idle hands ran dancing and shouting thorugh my mind.
WHERE did I pick up the idea that "idle hands" were a bad thing?
So, I googled 'idle hands', and there it was.....a devil's trove of old sayings used to frighten children in the dark sooty days of Charles Dickens and traced even farther back to the days of Chaucer.
I saw that my favorite author in my late teens was also listed as a source of idle hand admonishing. Reading and falling in love with transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau slickly programmed my life without me recognizing it, slipping in the following belief in between my drinking in his philosophies about humanity and nature: “The devil finds work for idle hands.”
So I became a person whose HANDS were always busy.
If I were doing something where they were NOT busy (not feeling, not moving, not touching, not in motion), negativity would use me.
So how could my heartfelt spiritually directed creatively intentioned decrees manifest ANYTHING if my hands were sitting still in the process!!!!!
It was time to give my hands some freedom along with the rest of my life.
Today, my spiritual prowess has been freed.

- FUN = water, food, creating
That was it. Being in or on the water. Eating. And making things.
What did they all have in common? HANDS
- Hands could touch and feel
- They pulled me through the water while swimming
- They splashed water on my face and played in the hot tub
- They cooked and cleaned
- They shoved food in my mouth
- They wrote, keyboarded and journaled
- They created….lifted rocks, dug soil, planted seeds, pulled weeds, painted, built, crafted, sewed, beaded….in short EXPRESSED CREATIVITY in THE PHYSICAL
