It is a group of entities of high spiritual frequencies

Five Members of The Council of 8
Of the eight members of the Council, five interact through written or verbal channeling and three, who remain nameless, interact energetically.
Evanareaux: 1983
The first member of The Council of 8 to make physical/spiritual contact was Evanareaux, to train the conduit --- through automatic drawing and simple channeling for future communication with other members of the Council of 8.
Atman Ananda: 1988
Automatic writing and speaking through a conduit is how Atman Ananda introduced their presence in 1998. The Collective Consciousness which calls itself Atman Ananda (Soul Bliss) brought forth a series of discourses called Talks of Twelve. Having mastered the challenges of the Earth Plane, they offered their perspectives on life as they have known it and continue to observe it. They do not live on the Earth plane nor on any of its multiple dimensions. They claim to have communed with Creative and Infinite Intelligence upon more than one occasion, though they had not, as of 1998, merged entirely with the origins of their creation.

Possibly the most familiar name of a member of The Council of 8 is Ashtar, a space master who still lives in a physical body, not having passed through the change called death. He sends telepathic information to students in many different solar systems.
Lady Master Natasha: 2005
Seven years later in April 2005, the Ascended Master, Lady Master Natasha, introduced herself. "I AM that glorious and wonderful aspect of life that is centered on the Radiant All That Is and the beloved I AM THAT I AM which illuminates my path." Since her arrival, this awakened and enlightened master has weekly presented her illuminated thoughts of ascended mastery in answer to questions about the journey we call life. Her goal is to assist those who wish to be freed from the cycle of rebirth and to reach out through spiritually advanced channels to awaken humanity from their illusory separation from God Consciousness.
She has made her immense wisdom available in the form of group discourses, confidential messages, and personal readings, so we might know what our Highest Self wishes to communicate to us. She is affirming for those who are awakened and uplifting and inspiring for those still on their journey.
Shugala: 2007
Two years later, at the end of March 2007, the Voice of The Council of 8, Master Shugala, introduced himself with the words, "Be at peace. You are as I am. You are the divine light that has awareness of itself on many different levels, but because of the limitations of the earthsuit that you wear, you are limited in your current ability to perceive yourself."
He warns us that we have been 'tricked into thinking that we are alone, because this planet teaches us to believe only in that which we can see."
Over a period of twelve consecutive weeks and also during a span of three years, Shugala met weekly with a group of students whose desire was to "awake to dream no more".
Shugala's first instructions to a group in Texas, USA began with: "This is the moment in your life when it was promised before you were born that you would be awakened, that you would be told 'you are not the you that you see in the mirror!' That is your disguise, and it is necessary that you came to planet earth with a disguise. It is necessary that you learned how to fit in, and that you pretended to become human, but you are not!
You are incredibly powerful rays of intelligence, beautiful white spiritual beings, bright light of all that is residing in a physical form. Bright Ones, I say to the mind, and I say to the heart, I say to the Soul and the Spirit of your being, from this point forward, when you look at yourself in the mirror, look only at your eyes, and look for the light that is in your eyes. See yourself. Remember yourself."

Why Organize a Rescue Mission
for Consciousness on Earth?

"From the perspective of Mastery that The Council of 8 operates from, we are not capable of comprehending failed experiments. Instead, what we see are successful loops of continued error. By seeing these impulsive loops of continued successful mis-creating, we then seek for ways to stop the electrical flow of consciousness into that loop.
We were of the original assumption that all that was necessary to bring an end to a 'loop of continued error' was to bring the awareness of it to an individual, a group of individuals, a nation, a planet, a planetary leader, a national leader, a state leader, and so forth, and by simply having the awareness, the Spirit, the Soul and all of the portions that make up consciousness of human form would simply alter the path and the reality that was being consistently mis-created.
You understand that the creator was not always interested in reruns, yes?
Indeed. From our perspective, we have learned that the human self requires more than simple awareness. The human self requires repeated knockings upon the door. When the bill collector comes, it is insufficient for the individual to understand there is a bill that is overdue. We have seen the individual uses everything at his beck and call to refuse to do that which he chooses to avoid, and so the game of hide and seek begins.
Thus, we, in our rescue techniques, have come to understand that our tool bag needed to be larger than simply bringing awareness to humanity. That was not enough to awaken a slumbering consciousness that was comfortable in its repetitive loop, even though when in the loop it found itself grumbling or dissatisfied. That was still the comfort zone and for many reasons, not simply because it was the known repeating itself. More often it was because the unknown was less attractive then the undesirable known.
We also discovered another factor that we have called the 'Self Factor'. We have understood in our rescue missions that there is this incredibly strong energy within the individual to either promote the self as the ultimate end-all and be-all of what exists or to negate the self as totally unworthy to exist at all. We do not find middle ground. We find one or the other when we find consciousness caught in such a loop as that displayed on planet Earth.
Either the self is magnificent and no thing can change or alter it, and it continues in its magnificence totally unaware that it is living life as demonstrated in the movie Groundhogs Day, or it seeks to annihilate itself, totally unaware that all it needs to do is lift itself out of the mud, take off its soiled clothing, and the beautiful light that was hidden within immediately lifts it out of repetition.
In seeking to assist your planet and those that have found themselves still unaware of the beautiful new dimension in which they are existing, we are doing a number of things, all of which cannot nor will not be revealed in this communication, but we will give you suggestions that you might understand what we the Council of 8 are doing and which you might adopt in yourself and your experiments if you are of a mind to."
How the Council Began the Rescue
"The first thing that we, as a group, did was sit in a circle. We calmed our minds and our hearts, and we linked ourselves as a unit.
How did we do this?
First, we began it by desire. We desired to be each other. We desired to be more than our self. We desired to be everything about the grand beauty that we could see in each of the reflections that were present in our group. So I, Shugala, sought out the beauty and the softness of Lady Master Natasha and merged with that. Ashtar sought out the command and the forthrightness of myself and desired to merge with that.
And so each individual in the Council of 8 sought out the highest, greatest vision that it could see in those with whom it shared the circle. And in that desire to unify with those qualities, our hearts instantly linked up with one another and beat as one; our minds instantly linked into one another and thought as one. There was no need to create symbols as visual reminders, for the desire in each one of us was the same.
Once we linked as one mind and one heart, the unified desire to become one with the heart and mind of God was instantaneous. And in that moment, we became what to the human eyes would perhaps look like a blinding fire of prismatic colors that was all-consuming with no intelligence visible, with no forms visible; simply a beautiful radiance that would sear the inner workings of the human eye were it to see it unguarded.
We were, in one word, in bliss.
Once we had reached within ourselves the united consensus of bliss, we then knew ourselves as All That Was.
Once we knew ourselves as All that Was, it was as though billions of movie theaters were playing cross the universe of our mind, and we could see, feel, and know each individual life movie that was being lived.
Anytime we, as united mind, found a story that was a loop, we focused our attention upon that story, seeking to find what began the loop. If we could find what began the loop, then as one united mind, we simply altered that
experience in that story. We simply erased it. We took it out. We created something else, and then we watched the story to see what would unfold after that. If we perceived that the loop had undone itself, or was altered, then we stopped. All we did was insert a different occurrence. We went back in time, as it were, and we changed a reality.
We, the Council of 8, interfered with a reality. That is how a human would see it. However, we, the Council of 8, see that what we did was write the original script for 'I AM that creator of all that is, and I AM that creator of universal life substance, and when I set forth my thoughts, they are things that are alive, and I give them life, and I give them breath, and I give them freedom. And I also give myself the power to recall that freedom.'
Would you understand?
I, Shugala, because I know myself as creator, can say unto my being, 'This thought I have had no longer supports what I understand as being God’s plan on Earth.' And therefore, it disintegrates, because I am no longer giving it my energy to live from.
That is what we, as a unit, as the Council of 8, as one mind linked into the heart and mind of God, discovered was a way to stop the loop and to give all that were creating their loop permission and freedom once again to
remember who they were, to remember why they existed, and to lift themselves out of the slumber of forgetfulness.
Many have been in this slumber for eons of time, and they have so conditioned themselves that the forgetfulness is satisfactory and that it meets their needs that they are only a tiny little glimmering fraction of their True Self.”
'True Self' is a terminology that we have adopted within our group, The Council of 8. We believe, amongst ourselves, in honoring what we call the True Self versus the illusory self. How we view the True Self is this: The True Self is that self that knows that it animates all of life.
In this moment, I AM the energy that animates this physical self (the body through which Shugala is speaking). It has none of the conditions that existed in this physical form prior to my agreeing to blend my consciousness with it. And this is being said for the sake of the conduit as much as it is being said for the listener. For it is my consciousness that is animating all of this physical form now, and it is my consciousness that is deciding how this body will function, for I am the one using it. I am the True Self in this physical form in this moment. My True Self knows itself as the ultimate animator. It does not guess at itself; it knows itself.
My True Self knows that the life that surrounds me in any moment is my decision. It reflects me; it reflects God; it reflects my True Self.
The illusory self, we assume, you are 100% familiar with, yes?
The illusory self is, of course, what most of those upon your planet identify with. They look in a mirror and they see their illusory self. They receive their diploma, and they congratulate their illusory self. They get their paycheck, and they thank their illusory self. They eat their meal, and they appreciate their illusory self. They lose themselves in the arms of another, and they thank their illusory self.
Unlooping the True Self from the illusory self is what the greatest battle upon your planet is".
How The Council of 8 Assists Humanity
"We only seek out those True Selves that have sent out a call and are seeking release from their cycle of Ground Hogs day. So in order for us to assist, we honor what has been called on your planet free will. Therefore if a loop exists, and we see it, we go first to the True Self. If the True Self is desirous of the loop being destroyed, altered, shifted, opened--- you choose the verb--- then we, The Council of 8, rewrite a part of the loop because the True Self, not the illusory self, has sought it out. Would you understand?"
