Who knew when I decided to penpal nonviolent prisoners that it would lead to the fulfillment of future needs?
My favorite saying is "All my needs are met before I know I have them." One incarcerated penpal turned out to be an exquisite artist who designed the illustrations for my Thought Karate book/game. He not only created a fish that Disney had not yet drawn, but worked closely with me to make over 15 different looks for that fish! All as a gift.
Now, years later, he has been released and lives in my city. When I needed help in my immense garden and acre of land, he eagerly volunteered to come at least weekly to do 'whatever needs done.' So, as I was wondering how in the world I would undo the damage the drought caused and help the land recover, my help shows up! Another gift.
In addition, it turns out he is the resource for upgrading my weak remodeling skills. Having been gifted Blue Bahia granite countertops by a friend whose children I tutored for years (another example of, "Who knew that helping write all those essays and preparing tests for my student to practice with would lead to the fulfillment of a dream kitchen?), I wanted to upgrade the 1927 farmhouse kitchen to make it worthy of its new beauty.
I discovered my former penpal has two sisters, one of whom loves to remodel with tile (I need to put in a backsplash) and has all the equipment needed and the other's hobby is as a floor specialist (my wooden floor needs serious help). I had no skills in either of these areas, and didn't even know where to turn to get it done. Why should I have worried??? My needs were met even before I knew I had them.
These days, when the energy of the planet seems to be quickening as consciousness awakens more and more, the need-fulfillment occurs even more quickly. One recent goal was to complete the landscaping of the large pond we dug two summers ago. The rocks around its edge did not cover up the plastic siding and were not level.
Inner voice led me to a site on craigslist where rocks were free for the hauling, and then our next door neighbor 'just happened' to come over to finish cutting down a dead tree and wanted to go with us to get the rocks. A free and friendly rock lifter! When we returned, he helped redo the pond, and it turned out he had a latent rock laying talent. The project I thought would be so difficult and time-consuming and needed more muscle power than I possessed was done within just a few hours.
Opening to allow the gifting of the universe makes it Christmas every day! How could we ever let ourselves believe anything less?
