I was the first car in line, stopped at a traffic light, waiting electronic permission to enter the freeway. A mongoloid woman approached the passenger side of my car holding a sign that said: Need Food for Family. I looked directly into her face, wondering about her situation. We shared direct eye contact while my many thoughts jostled for top recognition. Before I could respond to any of them, she slowly and silently moved on to the car behind me.
By the time I remembered I had apples and oranges in the back seat, I could not reach either her or them. Then Inner Voice said to me, "It is not food that she wants."
I wondered what else I had to offer. By simply having that query, the answer came. She wanted freedom from the limits she lived within. While she might have wanted food for herself or loved one, or might just be forced to work the streets for an overlord of some sort, her mere contact with me said 'Help me'.
We are taught that we must ask our teachers and guides for help before they can give to us, so when this woman asked for help by her actions and the words on her sign, I was free to pour forth violet fire into her being to transmute lifetimes of self-slavery. I was free to fill her with white fire and sacred flames, to send into her concsciousness the thoughts and feelings of ascended masters wanting us all to awaken to our true potential.
That evening during our monthly Tuesday night Question and Answer Session with Lady Master Natasha, she referred to my experience, even though I spoke of it to no one:
"Why not be holding in your consciousness a sweetness for each one that you perceive to be outside of yourself? You have heard the phrase, "Walk a mile in another person's moccasins." That is because at some time in your existence, somewhere, you may have done exactly the same thing, and if you could remember it, you could remember what you wished other people would say, think, or do unto your being.
And when you cannot affect a change in another, and yet your heart longs to, look into their eyes and in your mind, tell the god in those eyes that you love him or her, and then go on your way." LMN
She was also telling me that I was looking at myself in the eyes of that woman, and that my lifelong battle with food was not really about food for myself. It was about old memories that I deeply buried so the misery of them would not haunt me; memories of being unable to provide for my loved ones. Their cries of 'feed me, feed me' were echoed in my constant searching of my pantry and refrigerator, looking for something to eat and finding nothing even though both were well-stocked.
The chance to set the beggar free was a chance to heal myself.
